In-Home Dog Training
In-Home dog training takes place in your home. One hour, one on one personalized training session with a professional trainer. These lessons help to teach the owner how to handle behavioral issues in the home environment. Behaviors such as: greeting guests, housebreaking, counter surfing and many other unwanted behaviors can be addressed.
Why In-Home Lessons are Beneficial
One of my first jobs as a dog trainer consisted of strictly in-home lessons. I spent the first nine years of my career visiting client's homes and helping them to train their dogs. I learned a lot in those nine years. Looking back, I see how beneficial this has been for my clients. In-Home Training provides you with the knowledge needed for you to stay consistent. It also helps to hold you accountable for keeping up with the training. It helps me in that I can see your day-to-day life with your dog and how you handle everyday situations in the home setting. To use housebreaking as an example, I can observe your set up and can help you make any adjustments needed to make it an easier process.
This is a great option for training. It can be a somewhat longer process as we will see each other weekly and you will need to be practicing in between lessons. It will, however, provide you with a more educational experience on exactly how to train your dog. If you decide to go with another program, I will always suggest at least one In-home lesson for all my clients.
